As people grow older, needs change, families grow, and people may need more space to generate income. Architecture reflects what a society is. When a society is lost archeologist often need to look toward the architecture of the society to understand it. Does out current state of housing reflect our society at home?
Many current developments show seemingly identical homes for different people. A bedroom is a room with four walls and a closet, An office is a room with four walls and often a closet, A basement is a room with four walls and probably — a nearby closet. Does the program of our current housing options reflect what a space is used for or is that what furniture is for?
A house should mirror the current lifestyle of the occupant . Housing should adapt as we do.

Purposeful Housing
Can fundamentals of traditional post and beam construction transform housing?
Post and beam construction is easily adaptable to those that know everyday building fundamentals. For those that do not have that knowledge instead may need a template that allows for creation of space without the risk of damaging the structural integrity of the architecture.
This wall storage system is a template that anyone can use to create new spaces within a home so a house can grow with the family living within its walls.
Currently, the housing system works to have families buy several properties as time passes or they must build additions that typically do not match the existing building. Additionally most families remodel their main program every 7-10 years. By creating a system that allows for easy construction, families can create space that is cost efficient and quick.
The wall track system is designed to follow structural beams throughout the house that allow for modular construction of a variety of spaces. Wall panels are removable for storage, cleaning, or replacement. Different types of walls are prefabricated to keep cost down and sold to families that order them.
The home allows for a foundation to build upon keeping programs such as gathering space like the kitchen and living room near entrances. Need space for rental rooms, extra space for the holidays, or a temporary room, all that has to be done is move a few walls.

With homeowners not building additions as frequently as interior remodels, the exterior is not as easily adaptable as the interior. The columns allow for a template that creates the opportunity for well placed aesthetically matching additions if one was to need it.
